On Friday, April 25, 2025, Spa Bali International Academy (SBIA), located in Jimbaran, South Kuta, Bali, welcomed a special visit from a representative of BP2MI, namely the Deputy Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers, Mrs. Christina Aryani, along supports from the Department of Education and Department of Labor Bali. This visit signifies the government’s support for the development and protection of the Spa Therapist profession, especially for prospective Indonesian migrant workers.
SBIA is a professional training institution focused on producing high-quality Spa Therapists. With a one-year training program that covers both theory and practice, SBIA has graduated many alumni who now work in five-star hotels both domestically and internationally.

During her visit, Deputy Minister of BP2MI, Mrs. Christina Aryani, expressed her appreciation for SBIA’s contribution in producing professional workers in the hospitality sector. She emphasized the importance of recognizing the Spa Therapist profession as a serious and dignified career.
Deputy Minister Christina Aryani also pointed out that although overseas job opportunities are abundant, challenges remain in the form of negative perceptions toward the profession. She stressed the need for public understanding that the Spa Therapist profession requires high-level skills, including knowledge of human anatomy, massage techniques, and therapy methods.
SBIA remains committed to providing comprehensive training, with a theory-to-practice ratio of 30:70. With this approach, SBIA graduates are well-prepared to compete in the global workforce as professional Spa Therapists. The visit from BP2MI brings new enthusiasm to SBIA (Spa Bali Interantional Academy) to continue improving training quality and expanding collaborations with various stakeholders, including migrant worker placement agencies. Together, we can open more opportunities for decent employment for Indonesian workers in the spa and wellness sector.
